3 tips for unusual installation

When buying an image we are thinking primarily about our walls, and the other surfaces of the apartment are neglected. With a little creativity, however, we can install the creations in an unusual way, and the exciting effect is guaranteed!

1. Picture on the shelf

If we do not want to be too extreme, instead of hanging the pictures, we can simply place them on the shelves. The specialty of this method is that the whole shelf becomes an independent work of art! It is best to decorate these spaces with objects that are recapturing the colours or the form of the painting. For example, beside a picture depicting an orchid, you can put a real flower with ease, or a book that shares the colours of the flower petals, maybe even a statue with similar arches and lines, as the picture.

2. Leave it on the floor!

If we really want a bohemian, youthful vibe, we can simply put pictures and paintings on the floor, leaning against the wall. In this case, it is recommended to choose a jaunty themed picture and place other objects next to the image, such as stacked books or plants, vases, piled wood, etc. If our plan is to install our works in this way, with a handy frame, additional exciting effects can be made for the composition. If you would like to know more about how to do the framing, read our previous article.

3. Picture to the picture

Whether we put the pictures on the shelf or on the floor, we can play with the dimensions. For example, one of the smaller pieces placed on the corner of a larger piece of art brings playfulness to the space, especially when choosing from series. Here, too, we can strive for colour harmony, but for example, complementary contrasts (eg blue and yellow, green and red) may be interesting as well.
